New Appointments: Marketing, Communications & Engagement

Project Arts Centre is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Marketing, Communications & Engagement team.

We are delighted to welcome Veronica Dyas (Access & Engagement Officer), Sorcha FitzGerald (Marketing & Communications Officer) and Astrid Newman (Marketing & Communications Officer) to the Project family.

The team will work to further develop audiences and grow opportunities for engagement across our busy performance and visual arts programmes. Welcome to the big blue building!

Veronica Dyas joins the team in the brand new position of part-time Access & Engagement Officer. Veronica is an artist working through theatre, new text & installation. Facilitation, Action & LOVE are crucial to her practice, she works regularly with communities of identity, purpose and/or place.

Experience includes SAOL Project, Dublin Youth Theatre, National Association of Youth Drama, Axis Ballymun, Dublin City Council’s Culture Company, The Base Ballyfermot, The Abbey Theatre’s Community & Education Department, Focus Ireland as well as numerous school projects. She currently has the privilege of facilitating the new women’s group Complex Roots and is Belltable:Connect Artist in Residence to complete her new play “Paddy McGrath’s Daughter”.

Veronica studied Drama & Theatre Studies with Sociology at Trinity College Dublin and holds an M.A. in Text & Performance Studies from RADA & King’s College London. She is a current participant of Irish Theatre Institute’s Six in the Attic Artists Supports Programme. Veronica is delighted to be joining the Project team, in a role that’s extremely potential-full, and potential is her favourite word!

Sorcha FitzGerald comes from a background of digital content creation and design, having held a wide range of marketing roles in Dublin International Film Festival, Glasgow Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Dublin Fringe Festival and X-Pollinator. She has additional events experience through past work with Real Nation on events and activations such as the Bord Gáis Energy Student Theatre Awards, working on The Bold mOTel stage at Electric Picnic for Thinkhouse, and working on The Ulysses Express for Happenings as part of the Bloomsday Festival for two years.

Sorcha holds a BA in Film Studies and Drama Studies from Trinity College Dublin. In her spare time, she’s been known to take on the occasional creative role in theatre and film projects. Sorcha is thrilled to be a member of Team Project and looks forward to working on all of the bold and brilliant things we have planned.

Astrid Newman is a Dublin based artist and curator, with extensive experience in marketing and events management. In 2019 she completed a curatorial research residency at The LAB Gallery and she is the previous co-director of Embassy Gallery, Edinburgh. She co-directs @conch.fyi, an online platform publishing fortnightly interviews with artists from around the globe.

She is a recipient of the 2019 Wexford CoCo PerCent for Art commission and has exhibited and performed in numerous spaces including Rat Hole Gallery, Tokyo; Newlyn Gallery, Cornwall; Glebe House, Donegal and The Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh. Astrid has an MA in Art and Research Collaboration (ARC) from IADT and a BA in Intermedia Art from Edinburgh College of Art. She delighted to be a new member of the Project team!
