The sky breaks, the rain falls. The downpour slowly awakens a woman buried in salt for centuries, the only survivor of Sodome, a city once filled with joy and excess, freedom and sensuality. Here, now amongst us, she begins to speak. This is her story…

Rough Magic, in association with TheEmergencyRoom, is back with its first show of 2010 – the world premiere of Sodome, my love by Laurent Gaudé. This exciting new production will be directed by Rough Magics Artistic Director Lynne Parker and will star Olwen Fouéré in her most striking role to date.
Translated and performed by Olwen Fouéré the outstanding creative team include: John Comiskey (Designer) Monica Frawley (Costumes) and Denis Clohessy (Music & Sound).
Olwen Fouéré is one of Irelands most prolific and daring actors (Paula Spencer, By the Bog of Cats, The Bull, Salome) and for the first time she joins forces with one of Irelands premier theatre companies. Rough Magics Artistic Director Lynne Parker, has directed many award-winning productions including Improbable Frequency, Don Carlos and The Taming of the Shrew.
Laurent Gaudé is a winner of France’s most prestigious literary honour, Prix Goncourt. This is the first time his work will be presented in Ireland.

Our seating is unreserved so you will choose your seat on the night of the performance. We advise you to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time as we are unable to seat patrons once a performance has begun.
