THE THEATRE MACHINE TURNS YOU ON Vol 5
The Thing is?…
by Justine Doswell
A dance of cause and effect, of action and reaction, of choice, chance and determinism.
Fate, coincidence, accident – we confer meaning on to the arbitrary and gloss over destiny.
“The only way of expressing emotion in the form of art is by finding an ‘objective correlative’; in other words, a set of objects, a situation, a chain of events which shall be the formula of that particular emotion…” – T. S. Eliot
Dancers with boxes unpack objects chosen by you.
You unpack the rest.

Pretty Green Eyes
by Shane Daniel Byrne
Once considered a new exciting talent, a rising star and “one to watch” of contemporary performance art in Dublin, Shane Daniel Byrne has nose-dived and crash landed his career ever since. He lost his nerve. Inspiration out the window. Writer’s block – on the lock. He’s thirty years old now. Well, my God.
He’s decided now to leave onstage nudity and fake blood and tears behind. Shane Daniel Byrne has decided to become a comedian. Grit your teeth and dig your nails in; you’re about to watch the start.
Disclaimer – This is not a play. This is actually what he’s doing.
