It’s 90s Ireland and AIDS is still a life sentence. A sister, a mother and a grandmother, along with two gay friends, have come together to tend to 29-year-old Declan, who is dying of the disease. This strange new family unit are forced to confront the illness and each other.
A new adaptation of Colm Tóibín’s piercing novel about broken family, making a family of your own and the cost of caring for each other. David Horan, co-writer and co-director of last year’s hit, CLASS, presents excerpts from his newest work.
