By Brian Fleming
GIS A SHOT OF YOUR BONGOS MISTER (Featuring a post-show discussion with Senegalese traditional performer, Chico)

A Dubliner loses himself in Dakar and brings his Sengalese teachers to a very white 1990s Dublin – this is a story told in music, pictures and anything else Brian Fleming can get his hands on.A musical story-telling, from Dublin’s inner city flats to the suburbs of Senegal, experience the world through a drummer’s ear. Between the music and laughs, first world problems fall into perspective.

The show was a sell-out at ABSOLUT Fringe 2011 and at the Turnaround Festival 2012 in Project. Returning from success in New York for one night only in Project, with a very special guest from Senegal – Chico.

“It is told with the easy, unpretentious touch of truth and natural charisma.” **** Irish Theatre Magazine

“Solid, colourful storytelling … the language, the humour – Fleming makes his points personally and effectively.” *** Irish Times

“Effortlessly charming and instantly likable… There’s an air of Jack Kerouac to him.” ****

Programmed as part of BIG BANG Festival of Rhythm 2013.

There were sceptics and critical voices addressing both the context of the development of the Temple Bar Cultural Quarter and spectacle-oriented, consumer-driven cultural production which some feared Project’s subversive spirit might fall prey to after its refurbishment. An anniversary at most times is an important opportunity to reflect, especially during such transformative moments as those we are living through right now.…

Some of us have to stay indoors all the time. Others mostly all of the time. We've had letters and postcards through our letterboxes that made us smile. We've got emotional sending messages of support and solidarity to others. Some of us have wifi, Social Media and laptops. Some of us don't. So, we're starting LOCKDOWN LETTERS. To try to stay connected to as many of our…
