18-20 January 2024

DOUBLE ACT

Tickets: €18/€16

Preview: €14/€12 | 18th January

Show Time: 7.45pm (45mins)

The show’s over. Let’s raise a glass to those that stayed the course, the long forgotten and overlooked, the tragedies and the triumphs. Join Honey & Lemon on a whistle stop tour of the last century – a theatrical séance and a celebration of those who walked so they could run.

DOUBLE ACT is an evening of farce with music! All-singing, all-dancing, two rambunctious performers become mortal conduits for living legends and the stars of yesteryear.

Sure, they won’t know themselves by the end of it.

Biographies

Honey & Lemon are multidisciplinary entertainers who experiment with dance, voice and film to blur the boundaries of contemporary dance. Founded as a creative partnership in 2020 by artists Millie Daniel-Dempsey and Amy Robyn Lyster, Honey & Lemon is built on a decade of friendship and started as a desire to centre themselves and other women artists in the conversation. Millie & Amy started working together while training professionally in dance in the UK and have each been developing their own practice in Ireland, the UK and Europe as independent performers, makers and facilitators since then. These wide-ranging experiences have a strong influence on their work today, bringing together influences from collaborations and independent projects across the creative spectrum.

Honey & Lemon are currently Dance Artists in Residence at The Civic Theatre in partnership with South Dublin County Council and Offsite Artists with thanks to Irish Theatre Institute and CoisCeim Dance Theatre. They are 2023 recipients of the Assemble Bursary from Axis Arts Centre, following their time as Dance Artists in Residence at the venue in 2022. They are previous recipients of the Dance Ireland Mentored Residency Award, which began their ongoing relationship with their mentor, Lea Anderson MBE. Their work has recently been performed at Dancer From the Dance Festival and Five Lamps Arts Festival.
