Described by artists A.K. Burns and A.L. Steiner as a sociosexual video, Community Action Center takes the conventions of adventurous 70s porn and flips the switch. Its a hot women-centered action movie, where a community act out their sexual fantasies on screen. Yes its porn. Yes its art. And yes its simultaneously delirious, unsettling, arousing, brash, honest and fresh as it explores above and beyond the commonly perceived limits of feminism, pornography, and sexual identity.
Featuring a soundtrack from the best of current electronic music, including Chicks on Speed, Electrelane, K8 Hardy, Lesbians on Ecstasy, Light Asylum, Thee Majesty and MEN, and including original compositions by Justin Bond, Ashland Mines & Wu Tsang among others, Community Action Center is probably the queerest thing youll have ever seen.
