BUNRAKU DIALOG MINI CONCERT & WORKSHOP (SENSORIUM)

10.00 – BUNRAKU DIALOG – Collaborative workshop*

19.30 – Performance of pieces produced at the workshop + panel discussion. €5/3

Bunraku, originally known as ningyo-joruri, is the traditional form of story telling through the use of puppetry originating from Osaka Japan.

Bunraku Dialog is a one-day collaborative workshop exploring the intricacies of control within the exchange of dialogues between the performer and the puppet master. Choreographers, dancers, lighting designers, visual artists, multimedia artists, composers, sound artists, theatre directors and scenographers are invited to join and experience the daylong workshop. By participating they will be given the chance to explore new ideas together with artists of other disciplines.

The workshop will be guided by sound artists Angie Atmadjaja and Emily Kalies. Their interests lie within the realm of interdisciplinary collaborations and have extensive experience working in theatre, concert platforms and installation works.

The evening event will showcase the results of the collaborative workshop with performances by each of the groups involved. This will be followed by a panel talk with the curators and organisors of Sensorium, Angie Atmadjaja, Emily Kalies and Judith Ring. The audience will be invited to ask questions about the curation, intention and purpose behind the production of the Sensorium festival and will be given an insight into the weekends exciting events.

* participants need to sign up for the workshops. Contact judering@gmail.com
