Project Arts Centre Co-Design Update

This year, together with contemporary architectural firm OBFA, we launched a Co-Design process to develop a Master Plan for Project Arts Centre. We’re looking at improving access, enlivening social spaces & extending the facilities currently available to artists, staff, audiences and communities living locally.

In November 2021, we presented a questionnaire and invited the public to Co-Design Project with us. We ran two Focus Groups, facilitated by Fearghus Ó Conchúir, that were informed by the questionnaire. The response to the process has been fantastic, and we are delighted to share a brief update outlining some of our key findings at this stage. You can read them by clicking on the link below.

Next Steps

A huge number of ideas emerged and these will be further developed as we move forward with the Co-Design Process. OBFA will develop detailed design concepts around the spaces in Project Arts Centre, and we look forward to presenting these next year. A number of options will be presented in order to continue the design principle of flexibility.

We would like to thank the artists, audiences, citizens, staff and stakeholders of Project Arts Centre who were so extraordinarily generous with their time, ideas, suggestions and passion for Project Arts Centre. We look forward to a continued discussion over the months ahead, as the Masterplan evolves.
