Chisato Minamimura International Residency
During the residency, Chisato collaborated with Deaf artist Lianne Quigley, sound artist Brigid Cryan and video artist Neil O’Driscoll to develop a new Deafscape of Dublin.
Focusing on coastal as well as urban parts of the county, Chisato explored how sound can be translated into visual, sensory and embodied experiences. Collaborating closely over a number of days, the team drew on Deaf perspectives to reimagine how we perceive and connect with place.
The residency culminated with a sharing of the Deafscape here in Project on 6th August, which brought together other Deaf artists as well as members of the Deaf community and other disability arts workers and enthusiasts. It was a joy to see this work come together over the course of two weeks here in Project, and in Dublin city.
