Call Out: Disabled Artists Scratch Night
Download Application Pack here.
Project Arts Centre invites applications from disabled artists working in contemporary, movement-based practices to take part in an upcoming Scratch Night on the 25th of June in Project Arts Centre.
Scratch Nights are informal, supportive events where artists share short works-in-progress (typically up to 20 minutes) with a small audience in a relaxed setting. These evenings provide an opportunity to test ideas, present live work, and gather feedback to support further development.
We are interested in working with disabled artists at any stage of their careers and we value the diverse perspective this will bring. We are interested in working with disabled artists working across the following disciplines:
- Dance
- Live Art
- Multidisciplinary practices
- Non-narrative performance work
What selected artists will receive:
- Rehearsal time (in Project Arts Centre between the 22 – 24 June)
- €500 presentation fee
- Access support (in consultation with the selected artists)
- Dramaturgical support (provided by Artistic Director Sophie Motley)
- Documentation (video and photographic documentation)
Technical Information:
Presentations will take place in The Cube at Project Arts Centre, using a simple lighting wash. Artists will also have access to a projector and basic sound equipment / Q-Lab. Please keep your ideas technically simple in terms of presentation. A technical operator will be provided.
