Kian is a longstanding friend and collaborator of Project, with his sculptural exhibition 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘺, 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 / 𝘎𝘳á 𝘮𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘳𝘰í 𝘵𝘩ú, 𝘮𝘰 𝘤𝘩á𝘣ó𝘪𝘨í𝘯 𝘧é𝘪𝘯 opening at Project in 2023 and later touring nationally in 2024. From the northwest of Ireland and currently based in Dublin, his multifaceted practice explores rural Ireland, visual language, and identity.
Combining bespoke commissions and archival drawings, 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵: 𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 allows our audiences at Project to engage with our artists and the work that we present in our programme in a different way.
A note from Adrian Colwell (Access Manager and Creative Producer of Project Potential)
Colouring materials can be a support for neurodivergent people, as it offers a gentle and repetitive action that can self-soothe. These books will be available and accessible to visitors as part our sensory toolkit. This kit already includes various sensory items like ear defenders, sunglasses, nose clips, fidget toys and cushions, and is available for anyone who may require it.
Through this publication, Project acknowledges that visitors engage with an arts centre in numerous ways, and access should always be considered with this in mind. Scratch gives ours visitors an opportunity to be introduced to some of the artists and designers that we work with as part of our annual artistic programme in a different way.
