Project Arts Centre Technical Panel
Project Arts Centre is updating its panel of experienced technicians to work with the Project Production Team on a casual basis in our performance spaces and in our gallery.
The work will include get-ins, fit-ups, get-outs, and general stage work. You may also be assigned to operate sound or lighting or to stage-manage incoming shows where the company requires in-house help. The work will also include work in the gallery as part of the house gallery technical crew on the installation and removal of exhibitions.
The Role:
To be based on a panel of technicians to be called to work on a casual basis with our in-house technical crew in our performance spaces and in our gallery, reporting to Project’s Production Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide general technical support as required during the get-in, installation, presentation and get-outs of shows and exhibitions requiring the use of technical resources;
- Provide preventive maintenance and improvement measures for the venues lighting, stage and sound equipment during annual maintenance programme
- Operation of lighting, sound and AV on live events, performances and seminars
- Installation of art exhibits and AV set-ups for the visual arts programme
- General stage/set work involving manual handling
Desired Experience in the theatre and/ or visual arts environment
Applicants should have technical experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Stage experience in sound, lighting or stage management
- Experience of visual art handling (installing, crating, packing etc.) and installing audio-visual equipment
- Venue technician experience
- Digital/AV experience
- Willingness to work flexible hours on evenings and weekends
- Experience of programming and operating Eos-based lighting consoles and Qlab software
- Experience of programming and operating analogue and digital mixers (X32, M32 etc…)
- Experience in audio-visual equipment operation, maintenance and repair
- The ability to respond to a varying workload by managing tasks and time efficiently
- Experience of rigging lighting, sound and audio-visual equipment
- The ability to work at height and/or hold a current valid M.E.W.P. licence
- A good team player and an excellent timekeeper.
