Haptic Vests Testing

Haptic vests use a vibrating textile, translating sound onto the skin via vibrations. Across these wearables are touch points which can be synced up to instruments, vibrating in conjunction with the different instruments in a piece of music.
It doesn’t replicate the music — it’s not as simple as regular taps to the beat. It plays waves of sensation on your skin in a way that’s complementary to the music and aims to elevate Deaf and Hard of Hearing people’s concert-going and live music experiences.
Watch us trialing the vests here.
This was possible through a partnership with Music Health Ireland and Rethink Ireland.
Special thanks to Favour Odusola for being our live musician and Disrupt Disability Arts Festival for joining us on the day!
