The Dublin Fringe Festival 2025 closed with a bang at Whelan’s on Sunday 21 September, with a host of theatre, dance, comedy and more winning big at the awards ceremony.
Special mention must be given to our Project Artists Pea Dinneen, John King and Ellen Kirk for 𝙋𝙚𝙖 𝘿𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙣: 𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙚𝙧 𝙑𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚, awarded Best Production at the Dublin Fringe Festival 2025. This production was written by Pea, directed by John and costume designed by Ellen. Well done to all three of you smashing it!
Project also picked up the CoisCéim Dance Theatre Movement Award for 𝙑𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙬𝙤 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝘽𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙨, by Bobbi Byrne and Soso Ní Cheallaigh. This award honours a standout production in dance or physical theatre. 𝙑𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙬𝙤 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝘽𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙨 is proudly commissioned by Project Arts Centre through the support of Europe Beyond Access.
This year Project saw eleven productions through its doors, with four of these being awarded last weekend at the awards ceremony. Shoutout to the amazing Ela Cichoka for the Best Performer nomination, as well as our very own in-house techie Shauna-Anne for the Making It Happen nomination.
A huge congratulations to the two visiting productions at Project this year that won big: 𝙎𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙙𝙚𝙧 by David McGovern, awarded the Theatre Lovett Always Ready Award, and 𝙊𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙪𝙨 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 by FELISPEAKS, awarded the Best Ensemble Award. We absolutely loved having you in the Big Blue Building.
