Launching are two essays commissioned by Project Visual Arts, 'BUILDING, CLOTHING, CHAMBER POT' by Alison Mac Cormaic and Lisa Godson, and 'Try Lizzie Borden: Derry Film and Video Workshop & distribution beyond the Broadcast Ban' by Isobel Harbison.

Commissioned in response to the exhibition 'Open the book at a different page - Derry Film and Video Workshop' (2021), by Ciara Phillips and Sara Greavu, co-commissioned with EVA International, the publications are designed by Alex Synge.

'Tapes Under the Bed' is a curated selection of screenings and talks that draws from current research and practical concerns about the material legacies of various art and film collectives from the 1980s in the UK and Ireland, each of whom worked from anti-imperialist, anti-racist, queer and/or feminist positions. Convened in partnership between IMMA, Project Arts Centre and The School of Art and Design, Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) and supported by Goldsmiths, University of London, the Association for Art History, UK, 'Tapes Under the Bed' is curated by Dr Isobel Harbison, Lecturer, Department of Art, Goldsmiths, University of London and Sara Greavu, Curator, Project Art Centre.

Alison Mac Cormaic completed an MA in Design History and Material Culture at NCAD in 2016 and won the Design History Society’s international prize for excellence in design writing with her essay on Handicrafts, Production, Consumption and Display, 1971-2016. She currently works as an artist, visual arts educator and on the Heritage in Schools scheme. Lisa Godson is Programme Director of the MA in Design History and Material Culture at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. Her books include Making 1916: Visual and Material Culture of the Easter Rising; Uniform: Clothing and Discipline in the Modern World; Modern Religious Architecture in Germany, Ireland and Beyond and the feature documentary Build Something Modern based on her research into modernist architecture in West Africa. Isobel Harbison is an art critic and Lecturer in Critical Studies in the Department of Art at Goldsmiths, University of London. She writes regularly for a range of magazines, journals and catalogues. Her first book, Performing Image (The MIT Press, 2019), examined the historic interrelation of performance and moving image in contemporary art and its bearing on the age of social media. She is currently researching artists’ filmmaking in Northern Ireland from 1968 to present day in relation to media and politics.
