The TRANS LIVE ART SALON is shared initiative between Robyn McQuaid-O’Dwyer (Artist) and Live Collision and will take place throughout LIVE COLLISION INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL // SPECIAL EDITION 2016 from 30 Nov – 04 Dec 2016.
TRANS LIVE ART SALON is a festival residency opportunity for self-identified non-cisgender (e.g. trans, gender fluid, non-binary, non-cis intersex) [hereafter, trans] individuals and practitioners of all generations (18+ ), who are interested to spend one full weekend seeing all of the work programmed in LIVE COLLISION INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL // SPECIAL EDITION 2016.
Participants will attend all of the work presented as part of the festival, meet the festival team, meet festival artists and take-part in festival dialogues; to critically engage with the role Live Art and risk-based practice has to play in the visibility of trans and gender-nonconforming art and in trans archives.

Are you interested in live performance, trans activism, contemporary archives, consciousness-raising queer art, the mobilisation of politic, carving a central space for trans identity, engaging with trans people across the community, and/or writing back against the cisgender narrative of being trans in Ireland? If so, the TRANS LIVE ART SALON might be for you.
The weekend will begin with a series of screenings of work by international practitioners, presented as part of the Just Like a Woman programmes in London and NYC about the performance of gender/fluid identities. The TRANS LIVE ART SALON team will guide the group through this experience whilst introducing conversations around the work in the festival, around trans and gender-nonconforming representation in art, being a trans artist, trans activism, and the role of an active trans archive in Ireland.
