Maria Torres is an Indigenous Rights lawyer from Peru and a Research Associate at the Indigenous Rights Cluster in UCC.
She has worked for over ten years in international strategic litigation and advocacy on behalf of Indigenous Peoples in Latin America. She previously worked as a parliamentary advisor at the Congress of the Republic of Perú and as political advisor of indigenous organisations.
Her current research focuses on Intercultural Education in universities and the similarities and dissimilarities of the colonial experiences of Ireland and Latin America.
