In association with the Irish Times, Dublin Theatre Festival is excited to present The Arc.
In September 2014, ten playwrights were asked to contribute to a play, with each adding a few pages to what has gone before. The play is being written during this year's festival, and will receive a rehearsed reading on the final Sunday of the programme, Sunday 12 October.
Tom Murphy kicked things off with the opening scene for the play, which he has called 'La Reine Claude'. You can read it here. Enda Walsh then gave things a surreal twist, which you can read here. The latest contributor is Deirdre Kinahan, who has taken the plot in an intriguing new direction.
The next parts of the play will be published on irishtimes.com/culture in the coming days, with contributions from Bush Moukarzel, Sonya Kelly, Brokentalkers, Stacey Gregg, Michael West, Genevieve Hulme-Beaman and Kate Heffernan.
Tickets for a public reading of this exciting project are now available, with proceeds through ticket sales going to charity.
