Artist Harold Offeh invites participants to explore the potential of posing, performance and re-enactment as tools for exploring historical and contemporary images. Drawing on a range of references from classical Greek and Roman sculpture to queer ballroom dance and vogueing, the session will practically examine the impact and power of bodies holding space and time and how artists and activists have used this as forms of visibility and resistance.
Offeh will instigate a series of games and activities that investigate the potential of the body to challenge and question how bodies are represented. Participants are welcome to use their own references and sources by bringing photos and images as starting points. The session will culminate with a collective performance where participants will have an opportunity to present their work.
