Starman - Tumble Circus - Performance at Project Arts Centre, Dublin
An entertaining expedition into what happens when dreams and destiny collide

Earlybird: Book by Mon 2 May and save 25%
From the award-winning Tumble Circus, comes Starman, a heavenly mix of circus, comedy and ... cardboard!
Have you ever looked to the heavens for inspiration or guidance?
Starman is an entertaining expedition into what happens when dreams and destiny collide, following the journey of one man and his real life as a circus artist, a dad, and a clown.
Featuring top-notch clowning, acrobatics, aerial circus, juggling and a lot of humour, Starman looks at life and the mysteries of the universe: the times we get a break, the times we fall flat on our faces, and the glorious times when everything is going our way.

"If you're prepared to be challenged, both emotionally and intellectually, by a man who ends his performance spouting existentialism while parading in a giant cardboard star, I can't recommend Starman enough."
The West Australian
"If you don’t leave loving this show, you might not have a heart. Extraordinary."
Metro Herald

Running time: 55 min (no interval)
Please be advised that this production features strobe lighting

Written and Performed by Ken Fanning
Directed by Colm O'Grady

With support from the Arts Council of Ireland and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland

Biography
Ken Fanning was raised in Balbriggan. Co Dublin. He entered the world of entertainment at a very early age. By the time he was 13, he was watching at least 7 hours of television a night. After travelling through Europe for 2 years with his juggling equipment and 20 pounds in his pocket, he returned to Ireland and met Tina Segner on Dublin's Grafton Street.
Together, they formed Tumble Circus in 1998. Tumble Circus is committed to making new circus work and training, and this ideology has helped them surpass their goals of becoming street performers to now touring internationally as a professional, award-winning circus theatre company.
As well as performing, Ken writes and directs most of the company’s work. He is also a dad, a writer and a filmmaker.
Tumble Circus' previous productions include This Is What We Do For A Living and Damn the Circus (Dublin Fringe Festival 2013).
