SCREENING EVENT | SUN, WAITING FOR FLAWLESS / AN GHRIAN, AG FEITHEAMH LE FOIRFE

Biographies

Saoirse Wall is a body person, always sweating, drooling etc. They work in performance, moving-image, text and audio that is grounded in erotics. Threads of these varying practices inform and problematise each other. Movement picks up where words fail to describe; words attempt to express sensory experiences that border on indescribable; moving-image straddles the tension inbetween. Their work has recently been shown in Zanzibar International Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, CCA Glasgow and The National Gallery of Ireland. Their poetry has recently been published by Waterwings Press and ALMANAC Press.

Jonathan O’Grady (1997) is a visual artist from Kildare based in Dublin. His work takes a multidisciplinary approach but is usually manifested through photography, video/film and drawing. His work is most often concerned with the notion of truth within the creation and manipulation of images. Recent exhibitions and projects have included MATTERS OF TABLE (2023) at Gorey School of Art, Wexford, meet me where I am (2023) at Unit 44, Dublin and Rendering New Realities: Access and Alterity (2021) at the Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin. He is a member of Ormond Art Studios, Dublin.

Rob O’Shea’s (they/them) work is often a response to the homogenisation of queer bodies and subjectivities that occurs through the structures of mass media, institutional practices and group consensus. Performative interrogations of objects, images and queer theory bring a critical curiosity to bear on our fluid digital relationship to one another. In 2019 they premiered their multi-media work To Separate Photography From Your Life at New York Live Arts. Exhibitions include: Now Light, Now Shadowed (2021) with Commonage Projects, London and The Subject & the Object (2019), a collaboration with Julia Brandao, Arte Passagem, Brazil.
