A plague comes to town and eventually wipes out all but three of its inhabitants, creating a sealed society. They initially try to keep the community alive but eventually each faces themselves, their own worst fears and ultimately being the last person alive. This theatrical dance macabre explores death, survival instinct and grief with a mix of comic absurdity, cynicism, tenderness and viciousness. It's a mix of abstract and concrete storytelling. This collaboration with Locus Theatre and Danish physical performers results in a production inspired by Albert Camus The Plague, The Sisyphus Myth and the films of Lars von Trier. 'What struck me about the piece only seconds into it was that I was sitting forward on my seat, the performers had an immediacy and/or presence in their physical opening that just doesn't exist in Irish work. This is no fault of Irish performers but rather a reflection of our lack of physical theatre training. The piece was immediately distinctive and exciting as a result of this presence or more specifically how they physically responded and listened to each other.'
