PROTOTYPE WORKSHOP LOCATION BASED DESIGN FOR MOBILE PLAY

Prototype is a brand new festival of Play and Interaction which brings together some of the most playful designers in the world, to engage, excite, inspire, create and energise the city by providing a new platform for innovative social interaction and cross disciplinary play.
Location-based Design for Mobile Play Workshop - This workshop will introduce participants to the design of playful, location-based experiences using mobile technology. Drawing on recent work by ANÚ (Citizen X), Circumstance (Our Broken Voice) and her own (Just In Time), participants will analyse how mobile technology can be used to change players' relationship with their location, and will have the chance to design and test out their own location-based experiences.
As part of the workshop, participants will learn about the practicalities of designing playful experiences using mobile technology, looking at questions such as the safety of participants; access to technology; and how people interact with mobile technology in social spaces.
