Music Current Festival 2026
8 - 11 April 2026
Music Current Festival is back for 2026! Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a full programme of workshops, panel discussions and six main evening concerts. A true “contemporary” music festival with a concert programme of all Irish premiers, many world premies, as well as four commissions written specially for the festival. As always there is a strong international theme, with soloists, ensembles and composers from Poland, France, Austria, Germany, USA, Argentina and, of course, Ireland. As usual there is a strong multi-media element with works for live instruments and interactive electronics, interactive video, live sound spatialisation, works for flashlights, choreographed instrumentalists and audio-visual performances.
