Music Current festival returns this April with a series of visually stunning concerts and electrifying performances. The programme full of Irish premieres focuses on light (and darkness), and the visual experience of concert-going.
The annual five-day festival showcases some of the best Irish and international contemporary music makers, hosting five new concerts, including: Black Page Orchestra (Austria), TAK Ensemble (USA), lovemusic collective (France/UK), Dublin Sound Lab, and the return of Nadar Ensemble (Belgium).
Festival-goers can participate through a series of workshops exploring electronic music, AI in music creation, and new composition techniques, and a discussion exploring personal artistic approaches to music and technology.
“The fringes of contemporary new music continue to be reflected in the adventurous programming that makes the Music Current festival a hidden gem in Ireland’s new music calendar… If one wanted to experience the very latest cutting-edge trends in new music, then [Music Current] was the event to come to.” (Journal of Music)
