For those attuned to the fleeting nature of Live Art—where presence is everything, and memory is often the only record—the Live Art Development Agency’s Study Room is a rare and necessary resource. Now, for the first time, a curated selection of its materials will be available in Dublin as part of Live Collision International Festival.
Housed in Bethnal Green, London, the Study Room is the world’s largest collection of research materials on Live Art, containing over 8,000 itemson. Its shelves hold performances that have rewritten the rules of contemporary practice—videos, manifestos, critical texts—many of which exist nowhere else. In this specially chosen selection, festival audiences will have the chance to engage with works that have shaped the field, gaining access to performances that have long since vanished but whose impact lingers.
This is an invitation to step inside an archive of research material, a collection of radical gestures that continue to resonate.
