The Devlin Project is a multimedia exploration of how civil rights agitation turned to militancy in the late sixties— the era when the revolution was actually televised. Two women, Irish and African American—modelled on Bernadette Devlin and Angela Davis—are engaged in a public interview to tease out the question whether militancy has a role to play in the activism of today.
Painted Bird takes an interdisciplinary approach to theatre making. It explores cultural history, relying on documentary archive, and shapes that material into something that resonates today.
