Ham Sandwiches and Discipline
15 – 18 July 2026
Witness the passionate drive of the GAA, fused with dance, disco and comedy in ‘Ham Sandwiches and Discipline.’
From mammies’ sideline screaming, manic pundits, stadium crisp eating and teenage club socials, we delve into what makes this sport a national tradition. While injecting this hive of Irishness with campiness and humour, we glimpse at what growing up in Ireland can be like and what can shape a national identity.
Saturated with comedy, intensity and poetic play in motion to encapsulate the beautiful madness of Irish culture.
After a national and international festival tour this infectiously joyous theatrical explosion returns to Dublin.

About the Company
NAF Dance is led by performer and choreographer Nóra Ní Anluain Fay. Her work lies in the bridge between dance and theatre fusing music, text and film. Dance is always the primary driving force of the work but there is no hierarchy between the remaining mediums resulting in theatrical explosions that highlight the magic in the mundane and marry tragedy and humour.
Her first piece, ‘Let Them Eat Cake,’ was selected to represent the Netherlands in Szoloduo Festival 2022, Budapest. This cemented the tone and movement language of the work she makes and produces through NAF Dance. It pulses with physical theatre, slapstick comedy and a natural grooviness that marries the literal and the abstract to allow audiences in. There is a beautiful harmony between tears and laughter which is the line she strives to walk. The exterior language is sprinkled with a layer of whimsy, magic and a highly romanticised and cinematic lens.
Her debut production which she choreographed and co-starred in, ‘Ham Sandwiches and Discipline,’ toured festivals nationally and internationally in 2024 and was nominated for 3 Dublin Fringe Awards. It had a summer Fit-Up Festival tour and a National Tour in autumn 2025. She is currently developing an Irish language work in collaboration with an Taibhdhearc theatre, Moulin Belle France and Culture Moves Europe. As well as ‘Please Break my Heart,’ with Uillinn Arts Centre which she’ll create and perform in that’ll premiere later this year.
From shows based on reality television, party small talk politics, growing up, what royalty do when no is looking, school exams, longing for heartbreak, wanting to be Cinderella and sporting culture. NAF Dance’s camp, disco productions have toured across Europe unleashing infectious joy and welcoming whole new audiences to dance.
