Got Damp – Dehumidifier Giveaway

Project Arts Centre presents

24 November 2022 - 29 March 2023

Artist Avril Corroon is working on a project called GOT DAMP about damp housing. and she wants your damp!

We want your damp!

Artist Avril Corroon is working on a project called GOT DAMP about damp housing. She's looking for a number of participants, based in Dublin, who are willing to collect damp from electric dehumidifiers over the upcoming winter and spring.

Participants will receive a free highly-rated low-running-cost dehumidifier and a €100 honorarium. Over the winter and spring period you will be asked to empty the dehumidifier tank into a small 25L jerry can provided by the artist, which can be collected and replaced when full or dropped into the Got Damp collection point at Project Arts Centre.

A collection point for damp is located in Project's lower foyer, with a deep-drop collection pipe leading from the upper foyer. Instead of discarding what’s collected in the dehumidifier tanks, it will be poured into our DAMP tank, plumbing damp donations through the building.

The collected volume of dehumidifier water will be used as part of an art installation along with a film focused on issues surrounding the Housing Crisis, for an exhibition at Project Arts Centre in April 2023. If you already have an electric dehumidifier and want to take part in the collection please also get in touch!
Please note, the dehumidifier sign-up is now closed if you wish to join our waitlist please register your interest HERE.

Project Arts Centre is proudly supported by The Arts Council and Dublin City Council.
