Extinction Rebellion Youth: First Members Meeting

Extinction Rebellion Youth with Extinction Rebellion Ireland present

20 June 2019

Extinction Rebellion Youth - First Members Meeting - Project Arts Centre, Dublin
XR have been campaigning globally for action on the climate crisis and at this meeting we’ll be launching the youth voice of the XR movement in Ireland. It’s easy to feel powerless in the face of the climate crisis, but joining XR Youth empowers young people to be the change they want to see in the world.

The world is in ecological crisis: we are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction event this planet has experienced. Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an emergency and we must take immediate action to halt these changes.
Join us on the 20th of June for the kick-off of the Irish Youth branch of Extinction Rebellion (XR)!
XR have been campaigning globally for action on the climate crisis and at this meeting we’ll be launching the youth voice of the XR movement in Ireland. The main focus will be brainstorming the next steps of XR Youth Ireland – actions to take and informing as many people as we can.
It’s easy to feel powerless in the face of the climate crisis, but joining XR Youth empowers young people to be the change they want to see in the world. Anyone between the ages of 12-25 is welcome to come (with a focus on under 19’s) regardless of previous experience or knowledge. This movement will be primarily youth-led.
With massive thanks and appreciation to Project Arts Centre for their generosity we are able to offer this event for free to those in attendance. You can reserve your tickets here with just an email address. On the day of the event if you wish to donate €2 or more for the cost of stage equipment and for further events it would be greatly appreciated.
There will be a lunch break in the middle of the day so please bring food and refreshments for yourself. We will release a schedule for the event over the coming days. If for some reason you cannot make the event after booking a ticket could you please let us know so that we can open up that space for some one else.
We are in a crisis.
Our government is failing us.
This is why we REBEL.

This event is free but ticketed, advance booking required.  Anyone between the ages of 12-25 is welcome to come to attend.
