David Mathúna
David Mathúna (b. 1991, Cork, IE) is a multidisciplinary artist currently living and working in Berlin (DE). Exploring generative and improvised processes, David’s practice spans video, photo-manipulation, sound design, illustration, data visualisation and performance, with a specific focus on installation.
His primary conceptual inquiries explore the oscillatory relationships between the individual and the collective, between an inner sense of self and a performed social identity, foregrounding the role of the artwork as a point of departure for dialectic engagement.
Cailean Finn
Cailean Finn is a creative tecologist and new media artist based in Waterford, Ireland. In his work Cailean explores digital systems, and their underlying structure. In this approach, he attempts to reveal and provide insight into how contemporary technologies that shape our environment function. Currently, Cailean’s practice is focused around exploring artificial intelligence, machine learning and computer vision algorithms. Through these tools, he hopes to reflect on the relationship we have formed with machines, and how it can be (re) defined moving forward. In doing so, Cailean searches for new modalities of collaboration with machines, which is underpinned by the evolutionary processes we share.
Robyn Byrne
Robyn is a contemporary dancer, choreographer and teacher based in the Midlands.
She holds a First Class Hons, BPA Degree from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK) and was awarded the Carolyn Woolridge Outstanding Performer of the Year on graduation She continued studying at NSCD obtaining her Postgraduate Diploma in 2015.
Robyn’s performance credits include; Emma Martin/United Fall, Junk Ensemble, Plan B Dance (Scotland), Irish National Opera, Company Philip Connaughton, Jamaal Burkmar Dance/Extended Play (UK), Iseli-Chiodi Dance Company, Red Bear Productions.
Commercial credits include Irish Tatler (pictured), Lifestyle Sports 2021 Christmas campaign, RTÉ, Body & Soul, Dermot Kennedy, and Laura Jansen (NL).
Leon Denise
Leon Denise has graduated from the ICAN School and also the EGCI Graduate School, both located in Paris. He became famous as a CG artist at Lardux & Arte Creative before starting to develop websites and web games. Nowadays, as a freelance Technical Artist, he shares its expertise to the demoscene and shader coding sphere.
Peter Power
Peter Power is a multidisciplinary Visual Artist, Composer, Sound Designer and Director from Waterford. He is the Artistic Director of the Award winning company Sparsile Collective creating immersive experiences led by music. He is also Director of Eat My Noise, a multi-genre audio duo that work in Composition, Event, Film, Television and Post-Production. Currently the Artist-In-Residence in the Cork Midsummer Festival, Peter is the outgoing Artist-In-Residence in the National Sculpture Factory. He is the winner of the Arts Council of Ireland Music Bursary award, Music and Theatre Project Awards, Theatre Bursary Award and most recently the AF award and Visual Arts Commission Award. His current interests are in the connections between Digital and Live art.
Leon Butler
Leon Butler has worked as a creative director and educator for over ten years, receiving plaudits along the way from The Type Directors Club, 100 Archive, the Future Makers awards, Digital Media awards, Young Directors Awards and the Irish Design Awards. Leon is currently working as a Lecturer at Atlantic Technological University as well as continuing to grow his own practice at Bold Visual Narrative.
Aisling Murray
Aisling Murray is the founder of the new art and technology festival in Ireland called Beta Festival. She was Head of Programming at Science Gallery Dublin (the founding Science Gallery in the international network) up until its closure where she produced creative programmes converging art, science, technology and society from concept to full realisation in Ireland and internationally. Aisling is interested in work at the intersection of art, society and technology with specific interest in immersive technologies, artificial intelligence, industry collaboration and socially engaged work. She has extensive experience in public engagement and transdisciplinarity and has spoken on the subject internationally including MuseumNext (New York, 2019) on “Critical Thinking and Crucial Conversations with Audiences”, “Art & Science on Display: A Critical Perspective” at Medical Museion (Copenhagen, 2022) and was the keynote at the International Federation of Finance Museums Conference (Rome, 2022) speaking on “Art and Technology: A Transdisciplinary Approach”. This year she was the Irish representative and one of 20 people selected internationally by Institut Français Paris and supported by the French Embassy for the Digital Art Focus Programme in Paris that coincided with the International Symposium on Electronic Art 2023.
