Project Arts Centre presents

23 November 2017

Budapest-based artist and cultural activist Szabolcs KissPál works in the intersection of new media, visual arts and social issues with a strong focus on the ideological manipulation of history and misused national symbolism in the public and political discourse.

From Fake Mountains to Faith (Hungarian Trilogy)
investigates political communities as complicatedly constructed entities. Departing from the current authoritarian Hungarian state policy and the creation of ‘illiberal democracy’, the work examines institutional and historical narratives while looking at the shifting political and public perspective on trauma and memory.

“We are so excited to be entering into the third year of Dublin Gallery Weekend with an action packed line-up of incredible events, tours and talks and a brand new map to help visitors find their way around. Dublin has such a wealth of incredible visual art organisations and it’s wonderful to work so closely with them all to curate a weekend with something for everyone. With DGW, we hope to open up the rich array of artists and arts spaces to both Dubliners and visitors, art connoisseurs and novices, young and old.” – Rayne Booth, founder and director of Dublin Gallery Weekend.
