SCORE
8.00PM, 14 MAY & 9.30PM, 15 MAY
Arresting, speedy and very beautiful, Score grew from sound bites recorded in
Israel, where choreographer Yuval Pick grew up. Three exceptionally skilful young
dancers capture the urgency and complexity of a country where borders, languages
and cultures conflict and contradict.
TRIPLE BILL
8.00PM, 15 & 16 MAY
A dance for fingers and toes, imagined objects that fill a bare stage, and
movement woven from real-life memories make up this quirky triple bill,
featuring NOTHING for body by Howool Baek, Black by Mette Edvardsen and an
extract from Prompted Breathless by Liv O'Donoghue.
DOUBLE BILL
6.30PM, 18 & 19 MAY
A fun and witty double bill. In I will try, Alexander Andriyashkin asks the audience
to make changes to his dance while in Girls' Dreams, Dmitrijs Gaitjukevich
demonstrates every fantasy he thinks girls have, accompanied by a cheesy
soundtrack and some very short shorts. Suitable ages 14+
THE FALLING SONG
8.00PM, 18 & 19 MAY & 6.00PM, 20 MAY
A new work from junk ensemble is something to anticipate eagerly. Performed by
an all-male cast and a live children’s choir, The Falling Song looks at the nature
of flying and falling and the dangerous relationship between the two. So quickly
wings can be replaced by crutches.
RISING
6.00PM, 22 MAY & 7.00PM, 23 MAY
Discover an emerging star of British dance. Aakash Odedra’s unique fusion of
classical Indian and contemporary dance is explored in solos created for him by
three leading choreographers Russell Maliphant, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Akram
Khan alongside one of his own works.
THE BLUE BOY
9.00PM, 25 MAY & 3.00PM & 8.00PM, 26 MAY
Brokentalkers return with The Blue Boy following its success at Dublin Theatre
Festival in 2011. Dealing with the experiences of men and women who were
incarcerated as children in Catholic residential care institutions The Blue Boy
gives intense physical expression to the anguish of those who were silenced.
Suitable ages 16+, contains material that some may find disturbing.
Brokentalkers and junk ensemble are part of PROJECT CATALYST, an initiative of
Project Arts Centre.
