Drag of Colour Variety Show
12 June 2026
A series of guest artists will combine their performances and art forms with their own interpretations of drag in a multilingual, multicultural Variety Show. The show will be hosted by fabulous drag queen Khia the Asylum.
Drag of Colour offers a consent-based, experimental, safer space. The show features queer BIPOC performers who are either emerging within the performance scene or exploring drag as a new artistic outlet. We offer this stage for experimentation and expression. We encourage our audience to celebrate ALL of our performers, regardless of their level of experience.
We insist that the future of Irish drag is multilingual, multi-ethnic, and unapologetically shaped by those who have been pushed to the margins for far too long. Trans and queer People of Colour are the protagonists on and off stage. This show was originated BY and was created FOR trans and queer People of Colour. Allies are welcome to join as the audience, but are kindly reminded that they are guests in this space.
To respect participants’ and audiences’ privacy, photography, audio, and video recording are strictly prohibited during the event unless you have explicit permission from the person being recorded.

Team Biographies
Danny Carby‑Robinson (he/him) a.k.a. Khia The Asylum (she/her)
Danny is a Dublin‑based creative, producer, and community organiser dedicated to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community through his professional work in the LGBTQIA+ non‑profit sector, alongside his voluntary organising and creative practice. As an amateur drag artist performing under the name Khia The Asylum (she/her), his drag is rooted in a distinctly DIY and homemade ethos, drawing on his passions for sustainability, thrifting, upcycling, and sewing. Both in and out of drag, Danny has produced and organised various community events to support local groups and non‑profit organisations.
Pepe Sánchez-Molero (they/them)
Pepe is a PhD researcher with a background in spatial and visual design. Born and raised in València (Spain), Pepe studied Architecture in Germany, and is now pursuing a PhD at Dublin City University. Their research focuses on spaces and networks created by trans and queer adults with migrant backgrounds. As members of the Ballroom communities in Cologne (Germany) and in Baile Átha Cliath, they have been collaborating on community work and competing in the Old Way (Voguing) category since 2023.
Pradeep M (he/they)
Pradeep Mahadeshwar is a Dublin-based filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist from India whose work explores migration, language, queer identity, and intercultural storytelling. He is the founder of Queer Asian Pride Ireland and the Queer Spectrum Film Festival – QSFF. Through QSFF, Pradeep aims to expand access to cinema for migrant and QPoC communities—on screen, behind the camera, and in front of it. Working across film and performance-led visual practices, Pradeep centres the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ people of colour in Ireland within broader transnational contexts. They are passionate about creating inclusive and safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ migrants to explore their identities.
