Cascando by Samuel Beckett

Pan Pan presents

27-30 July 2022

Accompany Samuel Beckett’s curious figures into an uncertain future. Dressed in dark cloak and given headphones, you’ll be guided around Temple Bar on this rhythmic, immersive, group walk.

Accompany Samuel Beckett’s curious figures into an uncertain future. Dressed in dark cloak and given headphones, you’ll be guided around Temple Bar on this rhythmic, immersive, group walk.

Listen as you are introduced to the deeply riveting yet broken narration of Voice, a man hopelessly trying to finish a story. The only character is Woburn, never heard but identified by his same old coat. And then there’s the tremendous presence of Music, rising in a wave of electronic strings.

Featuring the melodic voices of Irish actors Andrew Bennett and Daniel Reardon, Cascando is transformed into an absorbing outdoor experience in which you are part of the spectacle. Pan Pan Theatre brings visceral energy to Beckett’s 1963 radio play, which poetically pits words against music.

The Guardian “Gradually the idea surfaces in Director Gavin’s Quinn’s compassionate production, designed with precision by Aedín, Cosgrove that to be seen is enough.” The Guardian
