ALIENS
4 & 5 November 2026
Written and performed by IFTA award-winning writer & director Alessandra Celesia (The Flats, 2025).
Join a real-life mother and daughter on a road trip from Donegal to southern Italy, as they weave their personal stories with those of Italian immigrants in Northern Ireland.
Blending performance, video, archive testimony and live electronic music, the duo meet present-day migrants, activists and strangers along the route, asking who gets to draw the lines between us and them.
A meditation on inheritance, migration and those who live in between: the aliens.
Performed in English, French and Italian with subtitles.

Press quotes
An “ambitious, memorable piece that treats familiar themes in new, even alien ways.” – Irish Times
“From the story of the Morelli brothers, who grew up during the Second World War estranged from each other, one in Nothern Ireland one in Italy, and whose story opens the show, to the mother-daughter pair of writer-performers Alessandra Celesia and Marta McIlduff, we are constantly called to question what it is that holds people together, and how they get apart.” – The Review Hub
“A journey where each of us might recognise something of ourselves – because at one point or another, we’ve all felt like aliens.” – ilteatrocheverra.it
