A Critical Conversation on Active Resistance with Ahmed Masoud
30 January 2026
This critical discussion on the role of art and culture in the movement of resistance comes at a crucial time as Palestinian artists in the Diaspora and exile, experience their work being suppressed and controlled, are often denied access and their freedom of movement heavily curtailed globally. This conversation looks at the role of ‘solidarity’ and what does it mean now, how we might reimagine and reconfigure our action within this urgent moment.
The conversation is hosted by playwright, actor and activist Dónal O’Kelly, with members of the company. Followed by live contemporary Irish music from Dunny, this event brings artists, audiences, and activists together into collective conversation about freedom, occupation, cultural resistance, and what active resistance means in this moment.
The audience are invited to share food afterwards in the upper foyer, meet and continue the conversation with Ahmed Masoud, the cast and creative team of ‘Return To Palestine’ and the wider Cairde company.
