24 HOUR PLAY PROJECT
What can happen when you combine the talents of some of Ireland's most respected playwrights, directors, and stars of the stage and screen, the adrenaline of one youth theatre, a New York theatre company and 24 hours...?
Six much-loved playwrights, six successful directors, and a star-studded cast of over twenty have come out to support Ireland's longest running youth theatre in a one night only performance of brand new work. Oh, and did we mention these shows will be written, rehearsed and staged in just 24 exhilarating hours?
In its thirty-fifth year, Dublin Youth Theatre continues to push boundaries, this time by teaming up with New York’s 24 Hour Company to bring you six new shows from some of Ireland’s leading theatre-makers. The 24 Hour Plays have been produced throughout the US and in Germany, Australia, China, Greece, Denmark and the UK. All proceeds from this very special event will go to Dublin Youth Theatre.
The best line up on any stage in Ireland this year, guaranteed!

•    10.30pm - The playwrights will be left alone to battle it out and trade actors to complete their dream cast.
•    11.30pm  - The playwrights head to a secret location and start writing their mini-masterpieces
•    6am, 19th February - The playwrights are joined by the producers and directors to read the finished scripts
•    6.30am - The Directors are assigned to a script
•    8am- The actors arrive for rehearsal
•    8am - 6pm- The actors and directors work together to discuss their play, learn lines, rehearse, tech and get ready to perform...
