Crash Ensemble and special guest Valgeir Sigurðsson bring you music from the vast landscapes and expansive beauty of the northern shores of Europe.
Featuring works by Kaija Saariaho (Finland), Tobias Brostrom (Sweden), Rolf Wallin (Norway), Rune Glerup (Denmark) and Valgeir Sigurðsson (Iceland).
Sigurðsson is founder of the Bedroom Community record label (home to Nico Muhly, Ben Frost and Sam Amidon), as well as Iceland’s top recording facility Greenhouse Studios, where his collaborators include Björk, Feist, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Camille, CocoRosie, The Magic Numbers, múm and many others.
Crash Ensemble will premiere a new work by Sigurðsson, written especially for the ensemble, his evocative and scenic string quartet “Nebraska”.  Sigurðsson will also join Crash on stage for a new arrangement of “Past Tundra” from his acclaimed album “Draumalandið”.

Company Information
Crash Ensemble is Ireland’s foremost contemporary music ensemble; a group of world-class musicians who play the most adventurous, ground-breaking new music of today.
The Ensemble has worked with many well-known artists from diverse musical backgrounds, such as Steve Reich, Gavin Friday, Dawn Upshaw, Terry Riley, David Lang, Íarla Ó Lionáird, Julie Feeney, Gerald Barry, Gavin Bryars, Michael Gordon and Louis Andriessen.
 As well as performing regularly throughout Ireland, Crash are well known internationally, in 2013 appearing at Carnegie Hall, NYC, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington DC, and Princeton University.
Crash Ensemble is music ensemble-in-residence at Project Arts Centre.
