Our Hearts Were Drunk With A Beauty Our Eyes Could Never See – A.E.

Join performance artist Francis Fay in a 4-hour live durational piece centring on the abandoned ritual of the slow dance. A mirror-ball rotates above a room lined with chairs on one side as the blindfolded artist navigates the space in search of a partner, someone to accompany him on the dancefloor. With a nod to the days of the ballroom of romance – as well as the more recent disco era – he awaits a hand to reach out of the dark, touch his shoulder … and move him…

Celebrating 20 Years in the Big Blue Building

Exactly 20 years ago the new purpose-built premises of Project Arts Centre reopened amidst huge expectations and speculations on its capacities to live up to its artist-led ethos and continue its creative path dedicated to experimentation and radical practices. There were sceptics and critical voices addressing both the context of the development of the Temple Bar Cultural Quarter and spectacle-oriented, consumer-driven cultural production which some feared Project’s subversive spirit might fall prey to after its refurbishment.
