This piece is loosely based on the true story of Caroline Norton, a woman born in the Victorian era. She married a violent and abusive man. She conducted her own divorce case, lost and subsequently was put in an asylum for 33 years. Her three sons were also taken from her.
The style of the piece is a mixture of ballet and contemporary and is approximately 15 minutes in length.
This is Night Star Dance Company’s second performance in public. Bow-tie like Chioni was performed in Project Cube in April 2003.
