In My Private Bio-Politics the artist examines the body in its local and wider political context – that of being Serbian, Post Socialist and non EU. He questions who are the performers that are placed onto the stage through expectations of a western programmer and hence then, whose bio-politics are being executed? For Asentic the fact that he is not grounded in this Western context but is motivated by a wish to be contemporary, maybe even resistant to what is prevalent on his national stage; makes him ask who is visible from this specific context and where in this interstice does their specific work fit?
