Performance

LANDFALL

Dates: 06 Aug - 10 Aug

Show Time: 11am - 8pm

When they’ve taken the floor beneath your feet, there’s nothing to do but fly. Experience an exciting slice of airborne circus theatre in the world premiere of this new show Landfall from Ether Productions.

Four characters find themselves in an impossible situation – they have nothing to stand on. Suspended in a post-apocalyptic landscape, a wild girl, a wistful opera singer, a forlorn gardener and an errant business man find themselves at close quarters. There is hope – a garden far off and out of reach. But can they get there?

In Landfall, the spectacular meets the intimate and the dramatic meets the comic with impressive acrobatic feats and physical storytelling. Aerial circus equipment – hoop, rope, silks, chains – appear from floating, ragged sections of building as Ether weaves wonder from chaos in this breathtaking aerial performance. Take your place in Landfall as Ether forgets how to walk and learns how to fly.

Praise for Ether’s Dublin Fringe Festival 2012 hit, Mirror, Mirror:

“Ether productions is one to watch, and Mirror, Mirror is unmissable.” ***** Irish Times

“Glorious physicality, impressive design … sheer ingenuity … stunning.” ***** Irish Theatre Magazine

Celebrating 20 Years in the Big Blue Building

Exactly 20 years ago the new purpose-built premises of Project Arts Centre reopened amidst huge expectations and speculations on its capacities to live up to its artist-led ethos and continue its creative path dedicated to experimentation and radical practices. There were sceptics and critical voices addressing both the context of the development of the Temple Bar Cultural Quarter and spectacle-oriented, consumer-driven cultural production which some feared Project’s subversive spirit might fall prey to after its refurbishment. An anniversary at most times is an important opportunity to reflect, especially during such transformative moments as those we are living through right now.…

LOCKDOWN LETTERS

Hi there,  How are you doing today? We hope you and your family are staying safe and sane during these strange days. We've been thinking about how we stay connected. It's not easy. Some of us have to stay indoors all the time. Others mostly all of the time. We've had letters and postcards through our letterboxes that made us smile. We've got emotional sending messages of support and solidarity to others. Some of us have wifi, Social Media and laptops. Some of us don't. So, we're starting LOCKDOWN LETTERS. To try to stay connected to as many of our…
