An installation consisting of music, sound poetry, fashion, photography, objects and performance by renowned sound art collective Grúpat.

The collective’s work ranges from a silent musical film and self built instruments by Turf Boon, to the costumes of drag artist The Dowager Marchylove, and a camouflage garden shed that needs to be discovered by torch light.

This is the first major Irish retrospective for the collective and has been curated by Jennifer Walshe and commissioned by In Context 3, South Dublin County Council’s Per Cent for Art Programme 2006 -2009.

This project is funded by the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and the NRA.

The renowned sound art collective Grúpat receive their first major Irish retrospective, curated by Jennifer Walshe as part of her residency with South Dublin County Council’s INContext3 programme. The show is an innovative and experimental spread of approaches to sound, including sound installations by O’Brien Industries, Bulletin M and The Parks Service; silent musical film and self-built instruments by Turf Boon; graphic scores by Flor Hartigan and Ukeoirn O’Connor; sonic reliquaries by outsider artist Violetta Mahon and the sonic flaneur costumes of drag artist The Dowager Marchylove.

The gallery is open daily from 11AM – 8PM, Monday to Saturaday.

Admission to the gallery is free of charge.
