ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH

All the Ends of the Earth connects the elemental purity of medieval vocal music with three contemporary Irish compositional voices. Fresh and dynamic chamber group Ergodos Musicians, featuring vocalists Michelle O’Rourke and Nora Ryan, present a programme of arrangements of, and new works inspired by, music by medieval French master, Magister Léonin.

The evening programme:

1.Viderunt Omnes, part 1 – Léonin, transcribed by Garrett Sholdice – circa 4′; Two female voices.

2. New Work – Benedict Schlepper-Connolly – circa 10′; Clarinet, cello and piano

3. Viderunt Omnes, part 2 – Léonin, arranged by Linda Buckley – circa 4′; Two female voices and clarinet.

4. Ritual for Magister Léonin – Garrett Sholdice – circa 8′; Two female voices, clarinet, cello and piano.

5. Viderunt Omnes, part 3 – Léonin, arranged by Benedict Schlepper-Connolly – circa 4′; Clarinet, cello and piano

6. Revelavit – Linda Buckley – circa 10′; Solo voice and playback

7. Viderunt Omnes, part 4 – Leonin, arranged by Garrett Sholdice – circa 4′; Solo piano

Ergodos is a music production company and record label based in Dublin. Composers Garrett Sholdice and Benedict Schlepper-Connolly founded Ergodos in 2006. Sholdice and Schlepper-Connolly’s curation regularly presents new and old music within context of a single idea or theme, often constructing a production as a single continuous work. The company regularly commissions new compositions, and has worked repeatedly with a pool of Irish composers, including Jonathan Nangle, Simon O’Connor, and Linda Buckley, who is RTÉ Lyric FM’s Composer in Residence for 2011-2012. The directors themselves regularly make work specifically for Ergodos projects.

Celebrating 20 Years in the Big Blue Building

Exactly 20 years ago the new purpose-built premises of Project Arts Centre reopened amidst huge expectations and speculations on its capacities to live up to its artist-led ethos and continue its creative path dedicated to experimentation and radical practices. There were sceptics and critical voices addressing both the context of the development of the Temple Bar Cultural Quarter and spectacle-oriented, consumer-driven cultural production which some feared Project’s subversive spirit might fall prey to after its refurbishment. An anniversary at most times is an important opportunity to reflect, especially during such transformative moments as those we are living through right now.…

Hi there,  How are you doing today? We hope you and your family are staying safe and sane during these strange days. We've been thinking about how we stay connected. It's not easy. Some of us have to stay indoors all the time. Others mostly all of the time. We've had letters and postcards through our letterboxes that made us smile. We've got emotional sending messages of support and solidarity to others. Some of us have wifi, Social Media and laptops. Some of us don't. So, we're starting LOCKDOWN LETTERS. To try to stay connected to as many of our…
