Dublins most surprising festival, Dublin Fringe Festival is back an this year Project Arts Centre and Absolut Fringe are collaborating on four very special performances, and here’s one of them……
A play about an idea for a film yet to be made. Director and filmmaker Gerardo Naumann wants to make a film based on an unknown womans diary he found. Using a local cast of 20 extras,
the stage becomes a platform to experiment with and test out his new film concept tentatively titled Uruguay. Its a peculiar premise, and inherently exciting: watch the genesis of a film created in a theatre and edge against the boundaries of documenting someone elses privacy. Can a play be useful? Or rather, shouldnt a play be useful?
This world premiere is co-produced by ABSOLUT FRINGE and Project Arts Centre

This month critically acclaimed choreographer Philip Connaughton brings his beautiful, sparkling, laugh-out-loud meditation on the fear of forgetting and of being forgotten to Cork and Dublin venues. Mamafesta Memorialising, which enjoyed its successful international premiere in France last year, is woven from inspirations including musical theatre, Bruce Forsythe’s Generation Game and most importantly, Philip’s mum Madeleine, who has senile dementia. Philip made his last piece, Assisted Solo, about her. But it wasn’t enough. He still has more to do and more to say. He’s worried that what’s happening to her will happen to him. His latest testimony to an ever-evolving,…Read More
