WE, THE PEOPLE

Article 40.6 of the Constitution of Ireland guarantees “the right of the citizens to assemble peaceably and without arms.”

A ‘Speakers Corner’, We, The People claims this right. There’s a lot to say right now, a lot to discuss and we need to talk. We need to talk out loud and in public – we, the people. This is a platform for inspiration, a chance to listen, to argue, to act!

Speakers include:

Ray Yeates (Dublin City Council Arts Officer), Rita Fagan (Community Activist), Martin Sharry (Theatre maker), Conor Madden (Actor and activist), Shane Byrne (Theatre maker), Sean Dyas (Community activist), Sorcha Kenny (Theatre maker) and more to be announced!

The speakers are invited to speak for a duration of 3 – 5 minutes each on a topic close to their own heart which has resonance to the broader society here & now.

Location: Entrance to Meeting House Square, Temple Bar

When:     Saturday 12 & 19 January 2013, 7.50pm – 8.25pm
