THE ELECTRO ACOUSTIC EXCHANGE

Tickets: 25

After 3 months locked away in a comparative study of musical and economic value, composer George Higgs is mounting a week- long installation of his findings. The Electro Acoustic Exchange – a composition for cello, mixed commodities, sine waves and sampled voices – will be played through an 8 speaker kinetic sculpture hanging from the ceiling of the space, using musical scores made of economic graphs. There will be a live performance by cellist Kate Ellis at the opening, TUES 24 JULY at 6PM, and the composer will discuss the work on THURS 26 JULY, also at 6PM. ‘The voice of sound economics!’ EAE Journal Supported by Arts Council, Ireland
