TARAMANDAL

Tickets: 20.00-25.00
Show Time: 7.45pm

Taramandal is based on Satyajit Ray’s short story, Patol Babu, Film Star, which tells of a chance opportunity to fulfil a lifelong dream.
At fifty or so, Patol Babu has led a rather unglamorous life. His one passion, acting, has never really amounted to anything other than a few theatre performances in his local community group as a child or at school. So when one day the possibility of a part in a Bengali film opens up, Patol embraces the chance with open arms.
Humorous and melancholy, Taramandal tells stories that seem to be about people we have met and known in our own lifetime. Devised and performed by The Tadpole Repertory, one of Delhi’s most prominent and prolific theatre groups, this is a play which captures the sincerity and ardour of human dreams and the courage and determination it takes to follow them.
